Clotrimazole is one of a group of medicines called ' antifungals' which are used to treat infections caused by fungi, moulds and yeasts. When Clotrimazole Cream 1% is applied to the infected area of skin it works by destroying the fungus or yeast which has caused the infection.
Clotrimazole Cream 1% is used to treat infections of the skin which may appear on the hands, feet, trunk, groin and genital area. Clotrimazole is commonly used to treat fungal infections such as ringworm, athlete's foot, nappy rash and fungal infections around the fingernails. It can also be used to relieve irritation of the vulva (external thrush) or the end of the penis which may be associated with thrush.
